Wood Fired Porcelian Vessel

This vase was made on the potter's wheel from porcelain clay and fired in a wood fired kiln powered by fallen timber. The vase has been glazed in a clear glaze that has specks of ash embedded in the glaze and glitters in the light due to the atmospheric effects of wood firing.There is also some glaze crazing in places giving a crackled effect to the glaze and areas tinged with soft green, again an effect of the wood firing.
