Wood Fired Black Vase

This vase was made on the potter's wheel from black stoneware clay and fired in a wood fired kiln powered by fallen timber. The vase has been glazed in a clear glaze that has specks of ash embedded in the glaze and glitters in the light due to the atmospheric effects of wood firing.
